If so, you can submit a claim to the Indemnity Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-intro\">The purpose of the indemnity fund is to:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Protect the public by reimbursing funds or property used by a CPA for purposes other than those for which the amounts or securities were entrusted to him or her in the practice of the profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-tango-light-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-intro\">The indemnity fund cannot be used to:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>obtain interest or other forms of damages;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>obtain compensation in case of an error committed by a CPA (such claims fall under the jurisdiction of the civil courts);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>recover sums of money given to a CPA for investment purposes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>settle a dispute over professional fees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to file a claim?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To submit a claim to the Order, please fill out the form below and provide the most complete and accurate information possible. Any claim to the Indemnity Fund is automatically brought to the attention of the syndic and the secretary of the Order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For your claim to be processed, you must do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>indicate the amount claimed;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>clearly state the facts supporting the claim;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>include all supporting documents;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>print a copy of the form you will receive by email, sign it in the presence of a commissioner for oaths, notary or lawyer, and email it to <a href=\"mailto:indemnisation@cpaquebec.ca\">indemnisation@cpaquebec.ca<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"notification-message aligndefault notification-message--warning notification-message--outline\"\n>\n   \n\n<p class=\"is-style-intro\">Deadline<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must file your claim within <strong>12 months<\/strong> from the time you become aware of the processed?<\/h5>\n      <div class=\"wysiwyg color-box-item__text\"><p>The Indemnity Fund committee evaluates and investigates claims, and then makes recommendations to the Order\u2019s Executive committee, which renders a final decision.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n   \n\n      <div class=\"accordion-container\">\n          <\/div>\n    \n    <\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"color-box-item has-background has-cpa-light-background-color\">\n\n  <span class=\"color-box-item__icon\">\n    <span class=\"icon-information\"><\/span>  <\/span>\n    <h5 class=\"color-box-item__title\">Indemnity<\/h5>\n      <div class=\"wysiwyg color-box-item__text\"><p>The maximum indemnity payable from the Fund is set at $80,000 per claim and $300,000 for all claims against the same professional.<\/p>\n<p>When you receive your indemnity, you must sign the documents which will enable the Order to then claim from the CPA in question the amounts you received.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n   \n\n      <div
