If you still disagree after the discussion, you can avail yourself of the conciliation service for professional fees offered by the Order\u2019s Office of the syndic.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"notification-message aligndefault notification-message--info notification-message--outline\"\n>\n   \n\n<p class=\"is-style-intro\">Find out more<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the conciliation of accounts process, the Office of the syndic tries to help the client and the CPA find common ground on the fees billed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This process is governed by the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/legisquebec.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/ShowDoc\/cr\/C-48.1,%20r.%2027\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"http:\/\/legisquebec.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/ShowDoc\/cr\/C-48.1,%20r.%2027\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Regulation respecting the conciliation and arbitration procedure for the accounts of members of the Ordre des CPA du Qu\u00e9bec<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When can you apply for conciliation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For your application to be accepted, the following conditions must be met:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the biller must be an Order member;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>no other legal proceedings (e.g. before small claims court) may be under way.emande soit recevable, les conditions suivantes doivent \u00eatre respect\u00e9es :<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"notification-message aligndefault notification-message--warning notification-message--outline\"\n>\n   \n\n<p class=\"is-style-intro\">Deadline<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have not paid the disputed invoices, you may start the conciliation process at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the regulation sets out deadlines for applications pertaining to paid invoices to be eligible:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Account paid in full or in part<\/strong>: The application for conciliation must be presented within 45 days of the date of receipt of the invoice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Progress billing or an account payable in several instalments<\/strong>: The deadline runs from the date of receipt of the most recent statement of fees or from the most recent instalment due date.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to apply for conciliation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To avail yourself of this service, fill out the form and attach a copy of the disputed invoices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you believe the CPA has breached his or her <a href=\"https:\/\/cpaquebec.wp.vortexdev.com\/en\/general-public\/complaints-and-recourses\/reporting-the-conduct-of-a-cpa\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2707\">ethical obligations<\/a> as well, you may inform the syndic when you send your application for conciliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-a89b3969 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-primary is-style-arrow\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\">Submit a request<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How your application for conciliation is processed?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Within three days* of receiving an application for conciliation, the Office of the syndic informs the CPA involved.
